Sojourner Truth and 19th century Florence

In Spring 2013 with generous grant support from Mass Foundation for Humanities the committee launched a new curriculum project to integrate Sojourner Truth's history and 19th century Florence abolitionist history into local high school curriculum.  New Leadership Charter High School, Springfield MA., is the first school to use the new curriculum based on the interactive tour on our website in conjunction with Enchanted Circle Theater's book: "I Will Shake Every Place I Go To".  Teachers and students at New Leadership Charter High School are enthusiastic about this new project which brings each class to Florence to experience the walking tour in person.  The committee hopes to bring this curriculum to other high schools in the future.
