Each year the Sojourner Truth Memorial Committee awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors from local public high schools. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate in an essay their experience and commitment to social justice and equality. Six $1,500 scholarships will be awarded, thanks to a match from an anonymous donor.

The committee has awarded scholarships since 2006; they are awarded during our yearly Sojourner Truth Memorial Celebration on the Sunday before Memorial Day.
